My graphic design professor asked our class to complete a design and enter it into the AIGA Cincinnati myfavoritemedalist.org design contest. The judges for this competition were Charles Anderson (http://csadesign.com/), Leslie Smolan (https://www.carbonesmolan.com/about/index.html) and Louise Fili (http://www.louisefili.com/). This was my submission, in honor of Memphis born designer, Gere Kavanaugh. I received a Merit Award for this design. Were I to submit this design today, I would probably change the typeface and text layout a bit. A revised version is posted below. (Note: every single petal was individually drawn and each one is actually a different color. No copying and pasting in this one.)
